Comment: If you were to take my opinion I would say that NIET NIET Greater Noida is good and not that great as you see in the advertisements but is good. Since I am a product made by NIET, I will share many interesting facts of the college. I judge a college on 2 things and they are placement and the college ratings. Ratings can’t be trusted anymore for obvious reasons for placement I researched to the core and found out that it is half of what they claim in advertisements. Even that is better as 30-40 lakhs packages in India is obviously can’t be true. Indian Navy and Indian Army people also visited the campus but I don’t know if anybody was placed with them or maybe they have kept it a secret. Among its peers that are Galgotia, G L Bajaj, ITS, and Dronacharya, Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology is better. However, in most of the colleges in Knowledge Hub there are no fests nor many events and this is where the colleges lack as students produced are not that smart enough. I shouldn’t have said these but now when I sit among the bunch of people from IITs and other engineering colleges of India they have so much to share while I have nothing.
Never judge a book by its cover and I say this because NIET Noida students are often found on streets having lunches or going for movies. However, all that are done after the classes are over as you won’t find a single species in the campus while the classes are on. The attendance is strict and the classes are held on time. Friday’s and Saturday’s were practical’s and the way the college divided theory and practical classes was commendable. Scoring consistently is the key as to have placement offers scoring 70% throughout is must.
The first year faculty was great but the subsequent years the quality started deteriorating. Faculty members didn’t possess the kind of talent that they should have. Not so strict not so cool and hard to ask them anything beyond the classrooms.
Students are groomed for placements and the placement cell of the college is one of its kind. They gave student ample chances to apply via a form and we were allowed to give preferences. No one was left for training but placements were only given to students who scored consistently throughout. MNCs like Capegemini, UHG, and Accenture took maximum students. India’s big IT names TCS was also among the top recruiters. The jobs offered were decent or rather better than almost all the engineering colleges of NCR. Nowhere close to what they show in ad but placements were there and the rate was also exceptional.
There are 3 boys and 1 girls’ hostel inside the campus. NIET Hostel was little weird as some hostel rooms had attached washrooms while some had common. I stayed at Plot No. 14 boy’s hostel and the 1st 2 floors had two-seater rooms without attached washrooms while the top 2 floors had attached washrooms. There was a difference in the fees but still because the rooms are allotted on first cum first serve basis and I had to contain with that room that didn’t had attach washrooms. Luckily in 2nd year I relocated to Plot No. 19 attached room and it was nice. The room was same but using common washrooms was not my cup of tea. There is also a single seater room option available and mess is compulsory for students staying in the hostel. The food served was North Indian and coming from Haryana it wasn’t a huge deal for me. All in all, the hostel was good.
You will see large NIET hoardings from a distant place as each building has that hoarding at its top. The main building is of 7 floors and has all the admin departments head sits there. There are 8 buildings in the campus in all and our block was next to the main block. NIET Campus area is nearly 15 acres and has a nice playground at the front. The college also provides bus facility to all parts of NCR. The college has built a state-of-the-art gymnasium and gym instructor is also available. Vault, high bars coaching is also available at the college. Such a huge college and just canteen was not enough. The food was average and the rates were on the higher side. There is also no seating facility at the campus as there are just few round tables. In all, the infrastructure of the college is awesome just if they could add a canteen than the infrastructure is flawless.
CBSE school kind of college but good in all the discussed departments apart from faculty. The college had one technical fests of some of the departments and departments like Civil had neither placements nor the events. You got a feel for them as rest all the departments had something for them. The college has one flaw or can be taken as positive that boys have to wear formals compulsorily and even girls have to wear shirts compulsorily though they can wear jeans rather than trousers.
