In an industrial collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services, IIT Kharagpur has developed a multi-sensory system for remotely controlled and real-time monitored friction stir welding process and upgrading it to Industry 4.0. Any defect identified during the monitoring procedure is corrected in real-time by sending ML-based modified parameters to the machine thus ensuring the standardized quality of the process.
