Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB organized a webinar on cyber security entitled: "A fireside chat on Security and Forensic Science with two eminent educationists & Bridging the Gap between Education and Job"

It was organized by Security & Forensic Science Department & Emerging Technology Department of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal & EC Council, the most prominent educational institute for Cybersecurity in the World on 10.10.2020.
    The eminent speakers were:
    1. Prof.(Dr.) Saikat Maitra, Honourable Vice Chancellor, MAKAUT, WB
    2. Mr. Akash Agarwal, Regional Director, EC Council for India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA).
At the outset, Prof. Maitra mentioned that in India the importance of internet has increased manifold, mainly due to e-commerce and other online activities. But in our country affordability is a major problem for mastering courses on cyber security. MAKAUT has initiated such courses in affordable fees. MAKAUT also wants collaboration with government and private organizations like EC Council to start more such courses. He said, "We want the young generation to take up these new jobs."

Prof. Maitra emphasized, "As digitalization increases, digital threats also increase. With each and every development there will be cyber challanges. So cybersecurity professionals are gaining importance. Experts must make the entire country secure from digital threats. We have to make ourselves more prepared for the changing scenario. Geolopolitical and financial scenario are changing. So we need more cyber security professionals."

Mr. Akash Agarwal pointed out, "India has an edge over other countries in Information Technology, as we have  experience in this field for two to three generations. We won't go back to pre pandemic situation even after this crisis is over. This digital trend will carry on, which makes cyber security an essential profession."

Mr. Agarwal also said, "In this changing world I am fortunate to be in an industry which is increasing at a break neck pace. The kind of revolution that took place will create millions of job. The students should be optimistic. They must not be apprehensive about their future. Massive opportunities await them."

Just like doctors use the scalpel to treat the patient and not kill them, the students mastering cyber security must also learn it as warriors to prevent the crime and not commit it.

The entire digital world will have a catastrophic future if we do not have proper security on different levels. Till date there are very few trained professionals in this area and hence offers fantastic career opportunities.
