The National Flag Unfurled by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor at Haringhata
The Independence Day was celebrated at the Haringhata Campus of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB amidst the Corona Pandemic by observing all social distancing norms. The National Tricolour was hoisted by the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. (Dr.) Saikat Maitra in the presence of some officials, security and housekeeping staff. Although the 74th Independence Day could not be celebrated in grandeur, it was observed solemnly as Prof. Maitra unfurled the National Tricolour amidst chanting of Vande Mataram and Jai Hind and the National Anthem was sung by the staff present at the campus. The programme was live streamed, so that the entire MAKAUT family could become a part of the programme.
Prof. Maitra said in this occasion that Independence Day reminds us again and again about our duties and responsibilities. We have to resolve our commitment afresh towards the development of the adjoining Haringhata area our state and our country.
The entire programme was conducted by the Assistant Registrar of the University Mr. Anup Kumar Mukherjee. The patriotic Rabindrasangeet 'Sarthak Janama Amar' was well sung by Madam Saswati Goswami Maitra.
Mr. Mukherjee wished Happy Independence Day to all and said that "We are proud to be Indians and proud to be Makautians."
