In a recent development, IIT Kharagpur has decided to replace the usual end semester examination with other considerations of evaluating student performance. This would include grades of mid-semester examination, assignments, viva, etc. A committee has been formed which will decide on these factors along with the grading scheme, supplementary examination and department change. The Institute will issue a circular based on the decision of the Senate meeting held on May 27, 2020. With this the Spring 2020 semester would stand closed. We appreciate the student leadership for their suggestions and the entire student community for their cooperation.
