Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB has become a true friend of students by providing text books and other learning materials to the students of Pakhirala High School of Gosaba, a remotely located school in the fringe of Sundarbans.

Most of the students of this school have either lost their books and other study materials or these are damaged after the super cyclone Amphan. On a request from the Headmaster of the School, the Vice Chancellor of MAKAUT Prof. (Dr.) Saikat Maitra took the initiative of providing books and learning materials to the affected students.

The COVID19 and Amphan Contingency team of MAKAUT went to the school on 15th of June, 2020 and delivered the study materials comprising of 160 books, 120 note books, pens, pencils, erasers, school bags, sanitizers. Sanitary napkins were also distributed for girl students. The Head Master along with the other staff of the school were there to receive the materials. Around 40 students of class X will be benefited from these resources.
