It will be organized at the Haringhata campus, jointly by the Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science, University of Calcutta, Kolkata & School of Energy and Environmental Science, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), W.B.
Soil and water are the most important Natural Resources which need to be managed scientifically for sustainable development and to mitigate on side and off side effects on natural system. Conserving earth’s biological diversity and safeguarding the benefits of ecosystem services are the two major objectives of natural resource management. Natural resource management is a multi-disciplinary area that integrates the complex interrelationship among soil, plant, animal, human and the environment. India is blessed with vast natural resources viz. land, water, vegetation, human and livestock, but their unplanned and unscientific exploitation has led to serious environmental and land degradation processes.
With the objective of popularizing the knowledge on natural resources, a National Seminar On Climate Resilient Agriculture, Food Safety, and Environmental Sustainability will be organized jointly on 27-28th March, 2020 by Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science, University of Calcutta, Kolkata & School of Energy and Environmental Science, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), Haringhata, Kalyani , West Bengal.
