INVITATION OF STUDENT INNOVATION PROJECTS FOR EXHIBITION IN EXPLORA-2020 ON NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY AT MAKAUT, WB. ON 28th FEBRUARY, 2020
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB observes National Science Day on 28th February with the objective of spreading the message of importance of science and its applications among the student fraternity. The University will exhibit innovative projects created by its student community in this event.
In addition to conventional awards, promising projects will be inducted to the EKTA incubation center of MAKAUT,WB for start-up assistance and mentoring. MAKAUT, WB intends to encourage entrepreneurial spirit among its student and alumni community by providing a launching platform to this community in EXPLORA-2020 to display their technical talent and demonstrate their innovative ideas.
A panel of experts will assess the techno-commercial potential of the projects presented. Quality projects recommended by the panel will be selected for nurturing at MAKAUT,WB’s EKTA Incubation Center for comprehensive start-up support. All affiliated Colleges are requested to encourage the students and faculty members of your institution to create and submit projects for this purpose.

Our coordinators will guide your coordinator and participating students to excel in this search for student entrepreneurs. Guidelines for Submission of Project Entries and the format of Synopsis of Project are attached.
GUDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF PROJECT ENTRIES 1. The project must be original. Preference will be given to entries with practical application, social benefit, and start-up potential. Working prototype / model will be appreciated. 2. A maximum of three (3) projects from one institution may be submitted from one institution for display in the National Science Day on 28th February, 2020. 3. The entries should be selected after quality of the projects has been assessed by a selection committee of the college / institute. 4. A project may be submitted by a team consisting of a maximum of three (3) students. The team is permitted to take help from faculty members and / or external mentors. However, plagiarism/ copying is strictly prohibited. 5. Project entries should consist of (a) a SYNOPSIS of a maximum of 500 words and (b) a short video (optional) (c) Name of Institution(d) Name and details of Participants 6. Every year on February 28, India celebrates National Science Day to remember famous scientist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, better known as CV Raman. He is best known for the discovery of the Raman Effect on this day back in 1928.
For this groundbreaking discovery, Sir CV Raman was awarded with the Nobel Prize in Physics in the year 1930. National Science Day was celebrated for the very first time on February 28 of 1987 to pay tribute to the great Indian scientist.
