Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB is going to organize its big annual event this month. The Eleventh Annual Convocation will be held on the 12th of December, 2019 at the main campus of the University at Haringhata in Nadia district.
His Excellency Shri Jagdeep Dhankar, Hon'ble Chancellor of the University and Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal will preside over the Convovation.

Prof. (Dr.) Saikat Maitra and the Members of the General Council of the University has invited all concerned to the Programme.
It must be mentioned at this point that Prof. Sourav Pal, Director, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata has agreed to deliver the Convocation Address as Chief Guest.

Sourav Pal is an Indian theoretical chemist, a professor of chemistry in IIT Bombay and is the director of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata. He is an ex-director of CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory Pune.
He is known for his contribution in quantum chemistry, especially in the field of coupled cluster based methods. His major scientific accomplishments include rigorous development of expectation value as well as extended coupled-cluster functional, development of the response properties to multi-reference coupled cluster (MRCC) theory, the effect of electron correlation and role of exchange effects on the low energy electron molecule scattering, introduction of complex scaling and complex absorbing potential in MRCC theory to calculate electron-atom and electron-molecule resonances accurately.

Dr. Partha Chatterjee, Hon'ble Minister-in-Charge of Higher Education and School Education and Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. of West Bengal will grace the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
All are requested to take their seats 30 minutes before the commencement of the Programme. Invitees are also required to carry the Invitation Card.
This year Ph.D degrees will be awarded to 14 students in various fields of Technology, Pharmacy and Mathematical Sciences. There are 230 Medal Recipients, who will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals for their First, Second and Third positions respectively in various fields of Engineering, Management and other Technical fields from the Affiliated Colleges of MAKAUT.
Saikat Ghoshdastidar Memorial Awars will be presented to the topper of MCA and Sati Paira Memorial Award for Engineering/Technology Undergraduate topper.
