New B.Sc Courses on Hospitality Administration with IIHM

    A Career in Hospitality Studies: the doorway to employment

    Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), WB is introducing In-House Courses in collaboration with renowned industry partners to increase the skill and employability of the young generation. One such partner is International Institute of Hotel Management, which has joined hands with MAKAUT to introduce five innovative and job oriented Under Graduate (B.Sc.) courses in the field of Hospitality Administration and Management. 
     It is worth mentioning at this point that IIHM is the largest Hotel School Chain in International Hospitality Management in India, with campuses at Kolkata, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and at KBU Bangkok.


    International Institute of Hotel Management is a part of the IndiSmart Group, a large conglomerate that operates the IndiSmart Hotels and offers a wide range of services in the field of Hospitality Management Education Training & Consultancy in India and the South East Asia. Founded in 1994 IIHM was the first collegiate program in the country offering discerning students the opportunity to be trained in globally recognized skills and earn an International Degree in Hospitality Management through its collaboration with various renowned institutes in UK. IIHM was founded by Dr. Subarno Bose, who is a chartered accountant with 25+ years of entrepreneurial experience in different locations across the globe. As the founder and chief mentor of the Indismart Group, his mission is to create magic moments for everyone (from visitors and guests to people working in the organization) at every opportunity.

    Admission

    The admission will be through the Common Entrance Test (CET) of MAKAUT, the details of which is given in the University Website www.wbut.ac.in. 
    The following  courses are introduced in collaboration between MAKAUT and IIHM:

    B.Sc. in Hospitality Administration

    This course provides the students with a fundamental knowledge about the principles of hospitality. The skills required by hospitality managers globally encompass operational as well as management levels. This course is designed to produce professional hospitality personnels who are equipped with the necessary expertise for the 21st century.

    With a combination of theoretical, practical and real time experiences, this course provides students with an all-round education in this field.


    B.Sc. in Hospitality and Catering Studies

    Catering is an integral part of hospitality. This hospitality and catering course will cover the basics of hospitality operations as well as essentials of food production, nutrition, health and safety and other issues that commonly arise in the industry. 

    While the course will include important theoretical concepts, there will be plenty of practical elements and the chance to gain lots of hands-on experience. Students will be prepared with knowledge, skills and experience for supervisory and management levels and will focus to a great extent on employability skills.



    B.Sc. in International Hotel and Tourism and Administration

    The hospitality industry is a truly global phenomenon which connects with the tourism industry on both domestic and international platforms.

    Students who choose to study this degree should be interested in interacting with people from all walks of life from all over the world. They will be taught the details of the fast growing tourism markets and how they can provide the best services and the experiences for international as well as domestic travelers.


    B.Sc. in Hospitality, Tourism and Events Management

    With the growth of the allied industries of tourism and hospitality, domestic and international travelers and organisations are now recognising the possibilities of hosting events, conferences, meetings, symposiums and much more in a wide range of locations worldwide.
    Students of this degree course will study relevant aspects of hospitality, tourism as well as the new and upcoming Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions  (MICE) industries with an emphasis on the needs of corporate travelers and how these are met by accommodation, food & beverage and facilities providers.

    B.Sc. in Hotel, Catering and Aviation Studies

    The tremendous boom in the travel and tourism industries has resulted in requirements for high professional standards in domestic and international travel, food and beverages and accommodation. These needs can only be met by expertly trained professionals.

    In this degree course, the student will learn in details about hotel operations, guest services, catering services etc. They will also inculcate specialised skill sets required for aviation personnel such as communication, grooming, confidence and technical skills.


    MAKAUT and IIHM are hopeful that all these five courses will be helpful to the young learners and help them in future in the job market. The success of the students will encourage the institutions to introduce different courses in other fields also to guide the future generation and help them overcome all uncertainties in their career-path.
