Entrance Tests Conducted by MAKAUT

    Dates of CET, JEMAT, PGET

    The Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT),WB will be conducting a series of entrance tests for admission to PG/UG in-house courses in the affiliated colleges/institutes.

    Common Entrance Test (CET)

    A second round of Common Entrance Test (CET, Phase-II, 2019) will  be held on 9th June, 2019 and the University will publish the rank card. Online forms will soon be available in the University website. The written test for Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted on General Aptitude. Written examination will be comprised of 50 questions (2 marks each) and will be of 90 minute duration. The scheme of the examination is as follows:
    There will be five Groups.
    AGeneral Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, English, Numerical Ability
    BSeries, Logical Reasoning, English, General Mathematics
    CPhysics, Chemistry, Logical Reasoning, English, Mathematics or Biology
    DGeneral Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, English, Mathematics or Biology
    EGeneral Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, English, Numerical Ability
    ELIGIBILITY FOR CET - 2019
    1. The applicant having passed / appeared /due-to- appear in 2019 at the Higher Secondary Examination in the General or Vocational Stream under the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination / Undergraduate Courses as prescribed from a recognized Board / University, respectively are eligible to apply.
    2. Candidates applying for admission in Group A should have English as one of the subjects at the 10+2 level.
    3. Candidates appearing for admission in Group B should have English and Mathematics/ Statistics / Business Mathematics / Informatics Practice / IT / Computer Science / Computer Application at the 10+2 level.
    4. Candidates applying for admission in Group C should have English, Physics, and Chemistry along with Mathematics or Biology at 10+2 level.
    5. Candidates applying for admission in Group D and E should have passed /appeared in 3 years Bachelor’s Degree course with one of the following subjects as prescribed.

    Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test (JEMAT)

    The 1st Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test or JEMAT  Exam of this year will be held on 2nd June, 2019. Admission can be taken after Group Discussions, Personal Interviews (GD/PI) and centralized counseling. Online forms will soon be available in the University website.

    The Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test (JEMAT) is a state level eligibility test of the Govt. of W.B. conducted by the MAKAUT, WB. Test is held every year for admission to the MBA/MHA/AICTE approved PG Diploma programmes offered by the Management Institutions of the State (both government and private). This test is conducted by West Bengal University of Technology on behalf of the State Government as per the guidelines framed by AICTE, in pursuance of the Supreme Court judgments and in terms of the policy framework laid down by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Colleges/Institutes can admit students from one national level test (CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT) and the state level test (JEMAT) OR only from one national level test OR only from state level test. This is as per the Ministry of HRD guidelines.
    ELIGIBILITY
    The minimum qualification for admission to MBA/MHA/AICTE approved PG Diploma programmes is a Bachelors degree in Arts/ Science/ Commerce/ Engineering/ Technology/Medical/Dental/Agriculture or other professional courses from recognized universities. The candidates who will appear in final examination (Graduation) to be held in 2019 may also apply. The Exam format is given below:
    1. Duration: 2 hours
    2. No. of Questions: 100
    3. Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
    4. Negative Marking: 0.25 marks
    5. Question pattern:
    General English40 Questions40 Marks
    Mathematics40 Questions40 Marks
    Logical Reasoning20 Questions20 Marks

    Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET)

    PGET will also be held on the month of June, 2019. M.Tech/M.Pharm seats are filled up through PGET. It is for admission to Post Graduate Courses in Engineering &Technology and Pharmacy in MAKAUT, WB (in-house) and the colleges affiliated to the University. Admission will be through an entrance test (PGET-2019) in relevant subjects for all candidates.

    ELIGIBILITY FOR PGET - 2019

    An Indian citizen with a relevant AICTE approved Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy/Architecture or appearing in the final year examination of such programmes or equivalent. M.Sc. or final year M.Sc. Candidates in appropriate branches are also eligible. However, degrees acquired through any distance education programme are not eligible.
    The written test for Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET-2019) will be conducted offline on subject wise multiple choice questions of 90 minutes duration.


    The entrance examinations centres  will be at Silchar, Guwahati,  Agartala, Ranchi, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Bangalore, Bikaner in India along with centers in West Bengal and in the neighboring countries of Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh [with the help of the colleges.]
    Entrance Examinations centres may be the  affiliated colleges running these courses of MAKAUT, WB.
