In the financial world, risk management is
the process of identification, analysis and acceptance or mitigation of uncertainty in investment decisions. Essentially, risk management occurs when an investor or fund manager analyzes and attempts to quantify the potential for losses in an investment and then takes the appropriate action given his investment objectives and risk tolerance. Risks can also come from threats of project failures (at any phase in design, development, production etc.), legal liabilities, credit risk, accidents, natural causes and disasters, deliberate attack from an adversary, or events of uncertain or unpredictable root-cause. Thus Risk Management professionals have a wide field of work and can also act as consultants or start own initiatives.
Mathematics & Computing is an amalgamation of mathematics with computer science and financial engineering. Covering the major areas in demand today, this course is of utmost value to the aspiring students. The course provides students with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and also practical training in computer science, numerical computing and mathematical finance. This programme has been introduced due to the need for sophisticated mathematics for modern scientific investigations and technological developments. The curriculum is designed to provide students with in depth theoretical background and practical training in computer science, numerical computing and mathematical finance.
This course includes concepts from statistics, computer science, and software engineering. Students learn the necessary skills to manage and analyze data. They learn concepts such as exploratory data analysis, statistical inference and modeling, machine learning, and high dimensional data analysis. They will also learn the necessary skill to develop data products including R programming, data wrangling and so on.
Computational Materials Science involves computational tools for solving materials related problems. There exist different mathematical models for investigating problems at multiple length and time scales which help in understanding evolution of material structures (at different length scales) and how these structures effectively control material properties. With this understanding we can select materials for specific applications and also design advanced materials for new applications. There often exist material problems which have important features at multiple length scales. Multiscale modeling technique is often used for such problems. It involves exchange of information between computational tools at different length scales. These models also take input from thermodynamic and kinetic databases for making quantitative predictions. Thus, according to experts, this subject has a wide scope and relevance in today's job market.
The course will cover basic ideas and techniques underlying the design of intelligent computer systems. Topics include Introduction to AI and intelligent agents Solving Problems by Searching, heuristic search techniques, constraint satisfaction problems, stochastic search methods. The object is to give an overview of different forms of learning, Learning Decision Trees, Neural Networks, Introduction to Natural Language Processing etc.
Data analytics refers to qualitative and quantitative techniques and processes used to enhance productivity and business gain. Data is extracted and categorized to identify and analyze behavioral data and patterns, and techniques vary according to organizational requirements. These types of skill will help the students to become data scientists, data analysts and so on.
After completing this course, a student will be able to design mobile applications by understanding android or iOS development platforms and APIs. By the end of this course the student will have a detailed overview of the design and development process involved in creating a mobile based application. It is presumed that Mobile Application Development has a bright job prospect and in future the job market will widen further. This modern field will be an appropriate choice of career for the young aspirants.
The course is an application of study of chemical elements to the industry. It helps students to demonstrate their ability as personal researchers and problem solvers. They will have a wide range of job opportunities like Government agencies, supply, and distribution of medicine, Defense services, Research colleges / Universities, Hospitals, Private clinics etc.
It covers the study of the science of heredity and variation in living beings. It is a rapidly evolving field with developments in molecular diagnostic techniques and increased knowledge about genetic causes of human disease.
Waste Management is the procedure of identification, collection, transportation, segregation, processing and effective disposal of waste. Effective monitoring and management of waste can help avoid harmful effect on human life as well on environment. Now a days Waste Management is a vital issue in modern business world. Waste management is the effective monitoring, handling and treatment of waste which is produced regularly from different sources. Presently this course is
having high demand in different industries as tons of waste in different form is produced daily which range from solid waste to E-waste. Also in the modern society, benefit generation for community is highly solicited. Entrepreneurship which focuses on the prosperity of the society is having greater probability to get success. Unlike traditional business, social entrepreneurship endeavor focuses on social satisfaction which ultimately leads to long term benefit for the business and community as well. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) is going to launch MBA in Waste Management and Social Entrepreneurship form August 2019.
